Technical Support / Field Application Engineer
Security Software Company based in Denville, NJ seeks entry level Technical Support / Field Application Engineers to fill a contractor (temp to perm possible) position. The tech will support our security identification products and work directly with our customers who include major corporations, schools, and public safety organizations. Gain a great deal of experience while working in a friendly environment. We will consider full time / part time employees and paid internships.
We will provide full training on our security identification products. Candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Candidate should have knowledge of supporting and installing software applications on Windows operating systems and servers. Candidate should have basic knowledge of mobile devices (iPads, iPods, iPhones, iOS, Android phones & tablets). Some basic networking and database knowledge is required. Knowledge of peripheral hardware such as ID scanners, card readers, barcode readers, biometric readers, and video imaging devices is a plus. The person must be able to promote a professional appearance and communicate with non-technical customers. Some travel is required; most of it is in the North East United States. Candidate must be willing to learn and grow with the company.
DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES
-Using a ticket system, provide technical support to customers via phone, email, web meeting, or on-site.
-Perform full installation & training of our security identification products at customers’ locations.
-Perform both automated & manual QA testing on our security identification products.
-Create and update technical documentation such as user & installation guides as well tutorial videos.
-Support internal users’ PCs, mobile devices, general technical / software questions.
